The new age Toshiba toner

Though digital technology has tried its best to deal with the paperless office, it is still very much just a distant dream. Paper can generate huge amounts of waste. Toshiba believes they may have found at least a partial solution to reducing the paper-recycling problem. Toshiba has introduced a toner designed to suit the industry’s first monochromatic range of copier/fax/scanner/printer manufactured by Toshiba and brand-named “Thingamajig”. The main characteristic of  this Toshiba toner is that it contains a blue colored  “erasable ink”. 

Toshiba’s technology of erasable colored toner allows the toner to be erased from the paper upon heating. A component in the Toshiba toner acts reversibly by turning the ink color transparent when subjected to the heating process. Toshiba has also introduced to the market the Toshiba desktop erasing machine that is capable of erasing 200 pages of printed-paper in roughly 2 hours. The blue “decolorable” color of ink in the Toshiba toner is suppose to enable printing on the same erasable paper up to 5 times.  The new ink has been named “e-blue” to distinguish it from ordinary non-erasable ink.
