A universal chip resetter is essential when using an Epson ink refill kit

If your using an Epson ink refill kit then you have probably experienced a peculiarity with your Epson inkjet cartridges. Nearly all current Epson brand inkjet cartridges include "smart chips" which prevent them from being easily recycled.

A chip resetter will reset the smart chip on the cartridge to let it know that it is now full. If it is not reset the smart chip will send conflicting information to the printer making the printer think that the inkjet cartridge is empty and prevent it from printing when in fact it isn't empty.

There are universal Epson inkjet cartridge resetters available that will reset the smart chip on almost any Epson cartridge.
